Der Künstler Klaus Klinger arbeitet seit mehr als 45 Jahren konsequent im öffentlichen Raum. Prinzipiell geht es ihm in seinem erweiterten Verständnis von Kunst darum, neue Wege des Dialoges und der Kommunikation über wichtige gesellschaftliche Fragen aufzubauen, sowohl mit Künstlern aus anderen Kulturen wie auch konkret mit den Menschen vor Ort, dort wo die Wandbilder entstehen. Es geht um die Demokratisierung und Gestaltung des öffentlichen Raumes.
1973 – 1980 Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Meisterschüler.
1978 – 2025 mehr als 150 Wandbilder in Zusammenarbeit mit Künstler*innen aus aller Welt. Wandmalprojekte in Deutschland, Griechenland, Nicaragua, Chile, Cuba, Brasilien, Polen, Russland, Türkei, Senegal und Namibia.

1992 Lateinamerika – Europa mit 60 Künstler*innen in 30 Städten
1997 – 2003 das weltweite Wandmalprojekt „mural-global“, an dem sich Künstler*innen und Initiativen aus 20 Ländern beteiligten und damit einen Dialog über wichtige Fragen der Zukunft begannen. 100 Wandbilder sind in diesem Projekt weltweit entstanden.
2004 Beginn der Kiefernstraßen Gestaltung mit Sprayern und internationalen Künstlern
2013 – 2021 mehrere Streetart/urbanart-Festivals in Düsseldorf mit der lokalen und internationalen Sprayer – und Künstlerszene.
2016 – 2020 Weltbaustellen, Wandbilder mit internationalen Künstler*innen in 26 Städten Nordrhein-Westfalens in Zusammenarbeit mit Initiativen vor Ort.
1992 – 2020 deutsch–kubanischer Kulturaustausch mit Wandmalprojekten in beiden Ländern
2018 – 2020 deutsch-griechischer Kulturaustausch mit Veranstaltungen, Ausstellungen, Wandmalerei, Literatur und Musik
Klaus Klinger erhielt mehrere Preise und Auszeichnungen für seine Arbeit.
BIOGRAPHY
The artist Klaus Klinger has been working consistently in public spaces for more than 40 years. In principle, his expanded understanding of art is about building new ways of dialogue and communication about important social issues, both with artists from other cultures as well as with the people specifically on site, where the murals are created.
